Training (407) Visa
The Training (407) visa is a temporary visa for applicants wishing to undertake occupational training in Australia.
This visa allows you to work for your sponsor in your occupation, whilst partaking in a structured training program provided by your employer.
This visa is available to applicants in a skilled occupation.
There are three types of occupational training covered by this visa:
- Occupational training to improve skills in an eligible occupation: for applicants who have recent qualifications and/or experience intending to take part in workplace-based training to enhance their skills in their current occupation, area of tertiary study or field of expertise.
- Occupational training for capacity building overseas: includes applicants who wish to participate in a professional development training program in Australia; applicants who have government support to complete workplace-based training; and applicants who are required to complete workplace-based training and are currently enrolled in an overseas institution.
- Occupational training required for registration: for applicants hoping to gain requisite registration or licensing as part of their occupation.
Applicants must meet English language, health and character requirements.
A sponsorship and nomination must be in place with your employer to apply for this visa. A detailed training program tailored to the stream through which you are applying will be necessary for approval.
Applicants must have 12 months of experience, obtained within the last 2 years.
